The Legend of Korra (2023/12/23)

I have an unusual opinion about this saga: I find it better than Aang's one. The Last Airbender is not bad, on the contrary: it's awesome, teach you good things, has a great vibe, and is nostalgic even for who didn't watch it as a kid (like me). TLoK, however, is way more energic, full of fierce battles and action scenes. It conquered me.

Despite all of that, I have a big criticism for the Southern Water Tribe's Avatar: the series ends out of nowhere. Ok, Kuvira was a big threat with her expansionist desires for Earth Empire, but she was nothing compared to Unalaq and Vaatu. I know, the events from following seasons were based on consequences from season 2, but it still was a better ending for the series. The way the anime ends, it seems like there were more seasons planned, which were canceled.

I also don't like how Korra seemed weak even in the final episodes of season 4. She suffered a lot with Zaheer poison (in fact she was SAVAGED the entire series, please someone call a psychologist), but it was still strange. I need to read the comics, that starts after the final events of the anime.

Despite of that, I loved it, Korra is one of my favorite Avatars.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2023/12/23)

I watched it very late, but I loved it. The idea of bend elements is very cool, and their sub-skills too. I like the fact it addresses big problems like totalitarian governments, civil wars and censorship. The series may be a little slow with fillers, but it doesn't remove shine from the anime. One of my favorite series, worth watching.
