Web browser options for legacy Android versions

This is a list of alternative web browsers I like, focusing on the segment mentioned in the title of this page. It's ordered by browser, listing its latest version for each Android version.

If you are looking for a browser for Android 1.x series (1.0, 1.1, 1.5 and 1.6), you won't find any. In jurassic versions like these, the best option is the AOSP browser itself, or a browser that the manufacturer pre-installed.

Brave icon Brave

Brave is a Chromium fork with privacy features, from the abscence of user tracking to advanced ad blocker build upon uBlock Origin's code. Its older versions are not available for non-ARMv7-A architectures.

Bromite icon Bromite

Bromite is a Chromium fork that removes tracking and proprietary blobs from the original source code. Since it doesn't update anymore, I suggest it only for old Android versions.

Cromite icon Cromite

Cromite is a Bromite fork that removes tracking and proprietary blobs from the original Chromium source code.

Fennec F-Droid icon Fennec F-Droid

Fennec F-Droid is a Firefox fork that removes tracking from the original source code. Since there's a better Firefox fork, I suggest it only for Android versions that Mull doesn't support anymore.

TIP: use the Find tool (CTRL + F) to find the correct version on the links. There are multiple links with the same version, and the only difference between them is the package architecture. You need to download the APK that corresponds to your device's architecture.

Firefox icon Firefox

Firefox is the Mozilla's browser with privacy features. Since there are better Firefox forks, I suggest it only for Android versions that they doesn't support anymore.

Kiwi icon Kiwi

Kiwi is a Chromium fork that add supports to desktop Chrome extensions.

Mulch icon Mulch

Mulch is a Vanadium fork that removes tracking and proprietary blobs from the original Chromium source code.

Mull icon Mull

Mull is a Firefox fork that removes tracking from the original source code.

Vivaldi icon Vivaldi

Vivaldi is a Chromium fork made by the original authors of Opera that removes tracking from the original source code and offers many customization options.

TIP: use the Find tool (CTRL + F) to find the correct version on the links. There are multiple links with the same version, and the only difference between them is the package architecture. You need to download the APK that corresponds to your device's architecture.

Ungoogled Chromium icon Ungoogled Chromium

Ungoogled Chromium is a Chromium fork (I swear) that removes tracking from the original source code. Its versions for Android 6.0 and higher are only available for ARM64 devices.
